Key Priorities

  1. To maintain a strong, dynamic, competitive economy, without which we cannot invest in or sustain key public services.
  2. To balance the budget and to adopt a credible fiscal strategy.
  3. To cut the cost of government by a variety of means, including selling off excess States' property assets.
  4. To focus on leadership, quality teaching and high aspirations in order to drive up standards in our education system.
  5. To ensure that we have an effective, affordable and efficient model of healthcare.
  6. To enhance social policy, particularly by implementing effectively the Disability Strategy and the Supported Living and Ageing Well Strategy.
  7. To review the housing market and adopt credible policies to support those who are struggling to get on the housing ladder.
